Even though Around is currently invitation-only, it is designed to be open to anyone who uses it responsibly. Remember that anything you post might be shown to other users, though you can delete your content at any time.
The app relies on GPS localization. Without it, posts reach an irrelevant audience and the experience is diminished. However, feel free to use it in "read-only" mode. Enjoy every moment you have, at the place you are.
